Never Oil Kitchen Worktops again !
A very important subject that we will go into in great depth within this blog post, the night and day difference between outdated worktop oils and state of the art nano coatings.
Bespoke Coating Solutions has been researching and developing nano coatings for residential environments for many years however the idea for the company started following the owner having a white stardust Quartz worktop installed within his kitchen. On speaking to the installer about care and upkeep it was very clear there was a lack of knowledge and understanding about protective products especially on stone worktops such as Quartz, Dekton, Granite, Marble etc. On completion of the worktop install an oil based sealant was applied to the stone which immediately changes the look and feel of the stone … for the worse! Dullness and mottling was apparent from the outset and the product immediately started to fall into the pores of the stone, the finish was uneven and extremely greasy on full cure. The owner of BCS began to test the oil worktop sealant with water tests, abrasion tests, chemical test, stain tests and scratch tests. The oil provided no protection whatsoever on the surface due to there being no hardness to the product it simply sunk into the pores of the stone … not good news! This meant that the worktop had no self cleaning abilities through hydrophobics, no stain resistance and no chemical resistance. Around 1 month following application with wiping the worktops with soapy water to clean them and the oil had completely gone from the surface due to there being no hardness to the product or cross linking to the stone. This is when Bespoke Coating Solutions was born.
We are experts in the coating industry with over twenty years experience of working with nano coatings and immediately knew we could create a solution to all the issues that come with stone worktops as lets be honest everyone wants stone worktops due to the stunning aesthetics they provide in the home.
In stages our coating procedure incorporates a primer coating to clog the pores of the stone worktop followed by a 10H hardness, extremely viscous base coating and finally topped with a gloss enhancing 9H top coat to provide incredible self cleaning abilities and this product can last a lifetime. Gone is the sticky and dull worktop oil and it is replaced with a slick, glossy and extremely hard nano coating that has cross linked to the worktop. Our coatings are tested against the harshest stains in the harshest environments with no damage being induced into the stone worktop after testing. Also worth noting the gloss that our coatings provide is simply stunning !
Even better than this after our install you no longer require any cleaners to be used on the worktops, simply a touch of washing up liquid in warm water and wipe with a microfibre cloth saving you time and money !
